Urban Decay Smoked Palette Swatches, FOTD, and Review

Today I'll be reviewing the Urban Decay Smoked Palette. The palette comes with 10 eyeshadows, 6 shimmers and 4 mattes, 5 of which are exclusive LE shades.

The Palette comes also comes with a mini Primer Potion, a full size 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion, and a step-by-step Lookbook.

The mattes: Kinky, Freestyle, Backdoor, Blackout.

The Shimmers: Mushroom, Barlust, Rockstar, Evidence, Loaded, Asphalt.

I really like the fact that theres a good mix of mattes and shimmers, colors and neutrals, cooler tones and warmer tones.

Applied wet, the biggest issue I had was with Kinky. Even using this method, a method that can make almost any eyeshadow look vibrant, pigmented, and buttery, I still couldnt get Kinky to show up.

Evidence was also a bit tricky and took a good amount of building to reach this level of opacity. Even so, if you're willing to put in the extra work, its a very beautiful color.

Applying dry with just my finger, you get a better idea of the pigmentation and performance of each shadow. The easiest colors were Mushroom, Barlust, Loaded and Asphalt. Rockstar and Freestyle were also really pigmented and smooth. Backdoor and Blackout both apply a bit patchy, but another swipe or two corrects that.

My favorites are Freestyle, which is an awesome all over or blending color, Rockstar which is so buttery and beautiful and is easy to incorporate into both daytime and nighttime looks, and Barlust and Mushroom, which are crazy pigmented and perfect for quick everyday looks.
